Getting started

At Europcar we strive to make your car or van hire experience as simple as possible. Here we have put together various topics of useful information, advice and help related to your electric vehicle hire.

Step 1
Use the key to unlock the doors by pressing the unlock button. Or if the vehicle is equiped with the Keyless entry, you can simply tuch the door handle to open the vehicle.
Step 2
The car is now unlocked, you can open the doors.

Pull the door handle to open the door.
Step 1
Simply press the brake pedal. All the screens will turn on. There is no start / stop button.
Step 2
As this is an electric vehicle, don't be surprised by the absence of noise. A warning message alerts you when the vehicle is not ready to drive.
Step 3
Keep the brake pedal pressed and select D (Drive) to move forward or R (Reverse) if you want to reverse using the gear selector. The gear selector is located on the right of the screen behind the sterring wheel.

Move the gear lever to the "D" (Drive) position to start driving.
Step 2
Release your foot from the brake pedal, and the vehicle will begin to move slowly without any engine noise, as it is an electric vehicle.
Step 3
Drive the electric vehicle like a traditional car, using the accelerator pedal to accelerate and the brake pedal to decelerate or stop. Use Eco Drive mode to limit acceleration and heating, gaining at least 5% more range.
Step 1
When you are in a safe and appropriate parking spot, keep your foot on the brake and shift the vehicle into "Park" or "P" using the gear shift.
Step 2
Exit the vehicle and make sure all doors are properly closed.
Step 3
Lock the car by pressing the lock button on the key or using the keyless entry system if equipped. The vehicle will automatically turn-off.

The charging port is located on the side of the vehicle, typically on the rear left or right.
Step 2
Open the charging port and insert the charging connector.
Step 3
When charging is complete, unlock the vehicle, the cable will unlock. Gently pull the connector to remove it and store the cable. You can stop the charging at any time by unplugging the charging cable.
